The Winery Beau Constantia is located on the hills of the Constantia Nek mountain pass, overlooking False Bay. The peculiarity of this location is this short distance to the sea, and with it the associated cooling of the vines by the fresh sea breeze. Due to the very high vineyards, which are in one Height of 350 m located above sea level on the Constantia mountain range, are only made by hand 3-6 tons of wine harvested per hectare. The very steep slopes of the winery allow the production of highly concentrated wines. Winemaker: Megan van der Merwe
Megan van der Merwe is the youngest winemaker in the Constantia Valley. In addition to developing the wines, her heart beats above all for nature. For this reason, Megan believes that as little as possible should interfere in the processes that take place from the vine to the wine. Therefore, winemaker Megan spends most of her time on site in the vineyards. Megan van der Merwe began her career by studying viticulture and oenology at university Stellenbosch. Shortly after graduating in 2014, she started as Assistant Winemaker bei Constantia Glen. There she had her first contact with the wines of Beau Constantia. In the years that followed, she spent much of her time chasing the sun around the world. She worked in Paso Robles, California in 2017 and in the Rhône Valley in the region in 2018 Chateauneuf Pope. Nevertheless, Megan traveled back to South Africa every year during the South African harvest so as not to miss the vintage at Constantia Glen. As someone who loves to learn and grow, Megan was immediately ready Management of Beau Constantia to take over. In the Year 2019 her success story began with Beau Constantia with her first own grape harvest.

The Pas de Nom White from Beau Constantia Winery is a bold wine with intense flavors.
The aromas of gooseberry and tropical fruits with nuances of white peach and mandarin combine wonderfully on the palate. The particularly refined balance and the fresh but long-lasting finish are what particularly characterize this white wine.
Sauvignon Blanc grape variety
The grape variety Sauvignon Blanc is a natural cross between the Traminer and Chenin Blanc grape varieties. This is likely the origin of its name. Linguists trace Sauvignon back to the French word "sauvage," meaning "wild." The exact origin of the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety is not well-documented. It was first mentioned in writing in the early 18th century in the southwest of France.
The mineral acidity and its relationship with the weather make Sauvignon Blanc ideal for cultivation in South Africa. In South Africa, Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most widely cultivated white wine grape varieties.
Depending on the ripeness of the grapes, different flavor profiles emerge. When produced traditionally, Sauvignon Blanc is known for citrus and gooseberry notes. However, vegetal notes like freshly mowed grass are often found in Sauvignon Blanc wines. In the case of early harvesting, Sauvignon Blanc grapes often exhibit aromas of tropical fruits and peaches.
Typically, Sauvignon Blanc is vinified dry, and it is rarely aged in oak barrels. The main reason for this is its history. Sauvignon Blanc has always been associated with freshness and a lean body.

Eine günstigere und nicht viel aufwendigere Alternative ist, sich den Wein ins deutsche Grenzgebiet liefern zu lassen und die Verzollung selbst vorzunehmen. Du erhältst dann die deutsche MwSt zurück, hast eine Freimenge von 5 Liter pro Person und zahlst 2 CHF Zoll für jeden weiteren Liter.
Zudem liefern wir frachtkostenfrei ab 120€ innerhalb Deutschlands. Des weiteren musst Du Dich nicht mit dem Paketdienst abstimmen und sicherstellen, dass jemand da ist, sobald die Lieferung eintrifft.
Wenn Du keine Möglichkeit hast, die Ware zu Freunden ins Grenzgebiet liefern zu lassen, dann können wir den Wein in einen UPS Access Point in Grenznähe nahe zu Deinem Wohnort liefern lassen. Du brauchst Dich nicht zu registrieren, es entstehen keine weiteren Kosten und Du musst nur Deine Weine innerhalb eines gewissen Zeitrahmens dort abholen.
Ferner gibt es verschiedene Anbieter von Paketshops, von denen Du Dein Paket gegen eine kleine Gebühr abholen lassen kannst, z.B.
