Similarly, the Winemakers have honed their skills in crafting this Cape blend.
The components of this artisanal Cape blend are Shiraz (60%), Pinotage (30%) and Mourvèdre (10%). The Shiraz comes from Stellenbosch, with a few barrels from Paarl, and all the Pinotage comes from Stellenbosch. All the vineyards are planted on weathered granite soils, which lend intensity and layers of texture. The Mourvèdre comes from a 16-year-old bush-vine vineyard in Agter Paarl. Mourvèdre is perfectly suited to bush-vine cultivation, as it gives the wine more body and weight than trellised vines. In the cellar, this blend is carefully aged for 14 months in oak, half in new barrels and the rest in second- and third-fill barrels. The result is a full-bodied, powerful and expressive wine with bold aromas of dark red fruit and Blackberry, along with notes of cigar box, cinnamon and spice on the nose. A wonderful match for grilled beef, mutton or game.
Generally, a must with meat.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0127/0090/9632/files/the-butcher-and-cleaver-cape-blend-2020-old-road-wine-the-winestore-de-5794717.jpg?v=1790857389
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0127/0090/9632/collections/cuvee-cape-blend-collection-2026.jpg?v=1793265392
