Haute Cabrière
The renowned Winery Haute Cabrière is picturesquely situated on Franschhoek Pass Road, nestled among the imposing Franschhoek-Mountains. Since its founding in 1694, it has been known for its excellent sparkling wines in the Méthode Cap Classique-style. Much of the cellar is spectacularly carved into the rock, underscoring its deep connection to nature.
The Franschhoek region offers a unique terroir, ideal for producing elegant wines. Under the leadership of the von Arnim family, who have nurtured the winemaking tradition for generations, outstanding wines are produced here, such as the Chardonnay Pinot Noir.
Visitors can experience the spectacular sabrage ceremony every day, where bottles of sparkling wine are expertly opened. The Winery also houses a restaurant with panoramic views across the entire valley and offers a selection of wines, including fine Chardonnay and Pinot Noir varieties.
Translation missing: en.Tasting notes
The Haute Cabrière Pinot Noir Rosé is a refreshing and delicate rosé wine made from the Pinot Noir grape variety. With its vibrant colour and fruity character, it is an ideal choice for lovers of elegant, light rosé wines.
This rosé has a delicate salmon-pink hue in the glass and releases enticing aromas of fresh red berries, such as strawberries and raspberries. These fruity notes are accompanied by subtle floral nuances, lending the wine a pleasant freshness.
On the palate, the Haute Cabrière Pinot Noir Rosé is lively and light, with a balanced acidity. Its fruit aromas come fully to the fore, accompanied by a subtle mineral note. The wine is refreshing and harmonious, with a lingering, fruity finish.

Pinot Noir
The Pinot Noir, also known as Spätburgunder, is one of the world’s noblest and most demanding red wine grape varieties. It is distinguished by its pale ruby-red to brick-red colour . The bouquet is complex, with aromas of red berries such as cherry, raspberry and strawberry, often complemented by spicy notes, earthy tones or hints of forest floor with age. The wines are generally elegant, medium-bodied wines , but they can also be powerful and complex.
Typical growing regions include the French Burgundy, as well as Germany, Oregon, California and South Africa, all of which produce outstanding Pinot Noir. Styles range from fruit-forward and fresh to complex and mature, often refined through barrel ageing, which can contribute notes of vanilla or roasted coffee.
Pinot Noir offers a fine balance of fruit and acidity and is a versatile food pairing choice. It pairs well with poultry, mushroom dishes, white meat and mild cheese.
