Tasting Note

The Idiom Viognier white wine initially offers citrus notes on the nose, which develop into a delicate interplay of buttery pastry, peach and chamomile. On the palate, it is creamy, fresh and lightly textured, with layers of nougat and orange blossom that lend it gentle acidity.

Composition:

100% Viognier

Viognier grape variety

Viognier originates in the Rhône Valley and produces aromatic white wines with a rich texture. In Stellenbosch, abundant sunshine and maritime influence combine ripe fruit with lively freshness. Typical aromas include apricot, peach, orange blossom, acacia blossom and a hint of honey or chamomile. On the palate, Viognier is often creamy and rounded, with moderate acidity. In stainless steel, it is fragrant and focused. A brief period of ageing, mostly in used barriques, adds richness, delicate spice notes and length without overshadowing the varietal character.
