Weingut Klein Constantia

The Winery Klein Constantia, picturesque in the Constantia region near Cape Town, is one of the oldest wineries in South Africa. Founded in 1685, it has a rich history closely linked to South African wine culture.

Klein Constantia is especially famous for its legendary Vin de Constance, a noble sweet wine made from the Muscat de Frontignan grape variety. In the 18th and 19th centuries, this wine was a sought-after drop at the courts of European royal houses and was appreciated by personalities such as Napoleon Bonaparte.

Today, the Winery combines its traditional wine production with a strong commitment to environmental protection. In collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Klein Constantia is dedicated to preserving the unique biodiversity of the region. This sustainable approach underscores the special character of the Winery, which harmonizes wine enjoyment with a connection to nature.
