Rongopai
With a long-standing tradition, Winery Rongopai was founded in 1932 in New Zealand and moved in 2007 to the renowned Marlborough-region to bring its vineyards, which are certified 100% sustainable, closer to its wine production. The vines of Rongopai have long been valued for their unique characteristics, which today are considered typical of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir .
The wines from Rongopai reflect the expertise of more than 90 years of history and are known for their freshness and liveliness. The name “Rongopai” means “good taste and good feeling” and symbolizes creation and growth on the labels with the unfolding koru design. Particularly noteworthy is the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa, for which the winery is known.
Rongopai proudly looks back on its history of more than nine decades as one of the oldest wine brands in New Zealand and is committed to sustainable farming in the spirit of the Māori concept Kaitiaki - caring for sky, sea, and land. This philosophy shapes every vintage of sustainably produced, fresh and lively wines.
Translation missing: en.Tasting Notes
Rongopai Sauvignon Blanc is an elegant white wine from Marlborough, which delights with its aromatic expressiveness and harmonious texture. On the nose, a delicate citrus note unfolds, accompanied by a hint of mandarin, which gives the bouquet a subtle depth.
On the palate, the Rongopai Sauvignon Blanc is delicate and generous, with a clear structure and precise, refreshing finish. Aromas of citrus fruits, cantaloupe, and a hint of sweet garden herbs make it a balanced and invigorating representative of its grape variety.

Grape Variety
Chenin Blanc is a widely cultivated, old white wine grape variety that has been grown in France (in Anjou – Touraine) since the 9th century. Compared to other white wine grape varieties, this variety is very productive. This leads to a very high quality of the white wine when reduced on the vine.
In South Africa, Chenin Blanc is the most widely grown white wine grape variety. The reason for this is primarily the very high diversity. For example, there are "wild-growing" vines (so-called Bush Vines) that are usually not irrigated. For this reason, the vines penetrate very deep into the ground with their roots to reach water. These Chenin Blancs therefore have a stronger depth and complexity.
The grape variety can also be aged very fresh and fruity in stainless steel tanks, developing into a very nice summer wine. Through the Aged in oak barrels, one obtains very complex and full-bodied white wines. The aromas of Chenin Blanc wines range from peach, apricot, and tropical fruits to honey and melon.
