Translation missing: en.Tasting notes
The Semillon Straw White has a clear, pale straw colour with subtle green reflections that are visually appealing. Its bouquet reveals intense aromas of ripe grapefruit, complemented by delicate herbal notes and a hint of tropical fruit.
The nose reveals ripe tropical fruit, while the wine's wonderful acidity and freshness make it particularly interesting on the palate. Serve well chilled at 8-10 degrees Celsius.
The grapes were dried either on the vine or on wooden pallets. Processing began once a sufficient sugar concentration had been reached. The grapes were neither crushed nor destemmed, but fermented on their skins in plastic containers. This helped break down the cellular tissue and release a little more juice. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, the fermenting sweet juice was transferred to old barrels.
The wine spent 15 months in old oak.

Semillon
Semillon often produces white wines with a rounded body, a fine texture and aromas of citrus fruits, pear and yellow apple. The acidity is usually mild to moderate, and tannins are generally barely noticeable. Depending on its origin and how it is aged, its distinctive character ranges from lean and fresh to soft and full-bodied. With age, honey, wax and nutty notes may develop. In the glass, the variety is usually pale yellow to golden yellow; aged or sweet wines often take on a deeper golden hue.
Typical growing regions include South Africa, Bordeaux and Australia's Hunter Valley . While the variety is also known for sweet wine styles in Bordeaux, the Hunter Valley produces distinctive dry wines that are often marked by acidity in their youth and have ageing potential. Oak ageing can add richness and spice. Dry styles pair well with fish, poultry or creamy vegetable dishes, while sweet styles complement desserts or spicy cheese.
