La Providence — Shiraz Rosé 2026
Couldn't load pickup availability
From a single vineyard in South Africa’s Franschhoek, La Providence brings a precise tribute to the Provençal style to the glass with this 2026 Shiraz Rosé. The cool nights of the dry vintage and early-morning harvest preserve the wine’s natural freshness and give the grapes wonderfully concentrated aromas. A delicate partridge-eye copper hue shimmers in the glass, followed by an intense bouquet of ripe strawberries, crisp raspberries and yellow melon. Gentle whole-bunch pressing under dry ice in the Champagne style, followed by less than three hours of skin contact, keeps the fruit crystal clear and focused, without any distracting tannins. With 1.2 grams of residual sugar, the wine is bone-dry on the palate, while its lively acidity of 5.2 grams and 13.0% ABV make it wonderfully moreish. Six months of Aged in stainless steel on the coarse lees with bâtonnage give it a silky texture and vibrant interplay of acidity, with a refreshing, lingering finish.

Shiraz
Shiraz, also known internationally as Syrah, is a dark grape varietythat produces powerful and spicy, fruity red wines In the glass, Shiraz wines often display a deep, dark colour and show pronounced structure on the palate. Typical aromas range from dark berries such as Blackberry and black cherry to pepper, cloves, smoke and notes of leather or Chocolate.
The wines are often distinguished by firm tannins and moderate to good acidity, giving them excellent ageing potential. Their style varies by origin: while the New World (Australia, South Africa) often tends towards more opulent, fruit-forward expressions, wines from the Northern Rhône (France) are usually more elegant and peppery.
Shiraz is a versatile partner for robust dishes such as grilled meats, game or spicy stews.
