Eenzaamheid Wines

The historic Winery Eenzaamheid in the South African Agter-Paarl region has been family-owned since 1693. Today, Janno Briers-Louw, a recognised Cape Wine Master, runs the estate in its seventh generation. His philosophy is closely tied to the old dry-farmed vineyards, where great wines are made right in the vineyard. The vines thrive without artificial irrigation, resulting in concentrated aromas and intense flavours.

The artisanal winemaking at Eenzaamheid focuses on small batches, with each lot of grapes carefully harvested and vinified separately. The production of Chenin Blanc is also noteworthy. The unique terroir of Agter-Paarl, with its Mediterranean climate and deep shale soils shapes the distinctive character of the wines, such as the Pinotage.

Janno Briers-Louw, who acquired his expertise in oenology at Stellenbosch University, combines traditional methods with international experience. This produces expressive wines with the region's distinctive character, such as the deep, dark Shiraz.
