In the picturesque Franschhoek Valley, the 'French Corner' of the South African Winelands, lies the boutique winery Lynx. The region is famous for its unique terroir: its location, surrounded by mountains, creates a cooler microclimate that allows the grapes a long ripening period on the vine. This results in wines with intense fruit, elegant structure, and remarkable depth. Lynx focuses on producing wines that reflect this special terroir. The emphasis is on classic grape varieties, especially red varietals like Cabernet Franc, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon, which find ideal conditions here.

Wine Ranges in Our Collection

The Lynx portfolio at The WineStore is impressively diverse. It starts with the accessible main range, which includes varietal wines like Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Shiraz, as well as refreshing rosés and a Blanc de Noir. A step above, you'll find creative blends with names like 'Passion' or 'Emotion', showcasing the winemaker's skill in blending. The pinnacle of the range is the 'Reserve' line. These wines, including The Cabernet Franc Reserve and The Shiraz Reserve, are produced only in the best vintages from strictly selected grapes and are aged extensively in barrels. They offer enormous complexity and excellent ageing potential. A Brut Rosé MCC rounds off the selection.

Food Pairing

Lynx wines are versatile food companions. The robust red wines, such as the Cabernet Sauvignon or the 'Emotion' blend, pair perfectly with grilled steak, rack of lamb, or hearty stews. The Reserve wines are ideal for special occasions and harmonise wonderfully with game dishes or aged cheese. The white wines, like the Chardonnay and Viognier, accompany poultry, fish, and creamy pasta, while the Sauvignon Blanc and the rosés are excellent aperitifs and complement light salads or seafood.
