The Swiss Jean Claude became a winemaker at the age of 20 when he created his first wines in a converted garage. But he already had the dream of becoming a winemaker at the age of 14. That Winery is on a remote corner of Walker Bay where wine has never been grown before. But Jean and his wife Carolyn Martin saw this as a challenge when starting their business. However, when they saw the enormous potential, they went ahead tackle it with persistence and ingenuity, it within just five years into an extremely successful one Winery to transform. The Rupert & Rothschild Cool Climate Chenin Blanc is a refreshing and elegant white wine made from the Chenin Blanc grape. It comes from Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons, a renowned winery in South Africa.
This Chenin Blanc is characterized by its cool climate, which imparts a special freshness and liveliness to it. The grapes are grown in the cooler regions of South Africa, where they are influenced by the cool breezes of the Atlantic Ocean. As a result, the grapes maintain excellent acidity while developing complex flavors.
On the palate, this wine is lively and refreshing. The crisp acidity harmonizes wonderfully with the fruity aromas. You can detect citrus fruits, juicy pears, and a hint of green apple. The texture is smooth and light, providing a pleasant mouthfeel.
Grape variety Chenin Blanc
Chenin Blanc is a widely spread, ancient white wine grape variety that has been cultivated in France (in Anjou - Touraine) since the 9th century. Compared to other white wine grape varieties, it is very productive. This leads to a very high quality of the white wine when reduced on the vine.
In South Africa, Chenin Blanc is the most planted white wine grape variety. The reason for this is mainly the very high diversity. For example, there are "wild-growing" vines (so-called Bush Vines) that are mostly not irrigated. For this reason, the vines dig their roots very deep into the ground to access water. These Chenin Blancs therefore have greater depth and complexity.
However, the grape variety can also be vinified fresh and fruity in stainless steel tanks, resulting in a very nice summer wine. By maturing in oak barrels, very complex and full-bodied white wines are obtained. The aromas of Chenin Blanc wines range from peach, apricot, and tropical fruits to honey and melon.

Eine günstigere und nicht viel aufwendigere Alternative ist, sich den Wein ins deutsche Grenzgebiet liefern zu lassen und die Verzollung selbst vorzunehmen. Du erhältst dann die deutsche MwSt zurück, hast eine Freimenge von 5 Liter pro Person und zahlst 2 CHF Zoll für jeden weiteren Liter.
Zudem liefern wir frachtkostenfrei ab 120€ innerhalb Deutschlands. Des weiteren musst Du Dich nicht mit dem Paketdienst abstimmen und sicherstellen, dass jemand da ist, sobald die Lieferung eintrifft.
Wenn Du keine Möglichkeit hast, die Ware zu Freunden ins Grenzgebiet liefern zu lassen, dann können wir den Wein in einen UPS Access Point in Grenznähe nahe zu Deinem Wohnort liefern lassen. Du brauchst Dich nicht zu registrieren, es entstehen keine weiteren Kosten und Du musst nur Deine Weine innerhalb eines gewissen Zeitrahmens dort abholen.
Ferner gibt es verschiedene Anbieter von Paketshops, von denen Du Dein Paket gegen eine kleine Gebühr abholen lassen kannst, z.B. Wir schicken auf Anforderung einen Ausfuhrkassenzettel mit, den Du am Zoll abstempeln lassen und an uns zurückschicken kannst. Wir erstatten Dir dann die deutsche MwSt. abzüglich einer Bearbeitungsgebühr von 12,00€ zurück.
Bitte beachte die Öffnungszeiten der Zollämter! Die Zollämter machen meist am Samstag um 13:00 zu und haben am Sonntag geschlossen! Näheres zu Öffungszeiten und Verzollung unter https://www.ezv.admin.ch.

Aufgrund ihrer Beförderung im EU-Binnenmarkt werden Postsendungen aus Ländern der Europäischen Union regelmäßig nicht von der Zollverwaltung behandelt.
