The vineyard Beau Constantia is located on the hills of Constantia Nek mountain pass, overlooking False Bay. What makes this location special is its close proximity to the sea, resulting in cooling of the vines from the fresh ocean breeze. Situated at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level on the Constantia mountain range, the vineyards are meticulously tended, yielding only 3-6 tons of grapes per hectare through manual harvesting. The steep slopes of the vineyard allow for the production of highly concentrated wines. This combination imparts a distinctive sense of origin, reflected in the award-winning portfolio of Beau Constantia.

Winemaker: Megan van der Merwe
Megan van der Merwe is the youngest winemaker in the Constantia Valley. In addition to winemaking, her heart beats for nature. That's why Megan believes in interfering as little as possible in the processes that unfold from the vine to the wine. As a result, winemaker Megan spends most of her time on-site in the vineyards. Her career began with a degree in viticulture and oenology at the University of Stellenbosch. Shortly after her graduation in 2014, she started as an Assistant Winemaker at Constantia Glen. It was there that she had her first encounters with the wines of Beau Constantia. Over the following years, she spent a lot of time chasing the sun around the world. In 2017, she worked in Paso Robles, California, and in 2018, she was in the Rhône Valley in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region. Nonetheless, Megan returned to South Africa every year during the South African harvest to ensure she didn't miss the vintage at Constantia Glen. As someone who loves to learn and grow, Megan was immediately ready to take on the leadership of Beau Constantia. Her success story at Beau Constantia began in 2019 with her first solo grape harvest.

Rosé wine
rosé wine (short: Rosé) is made from red wine grapes and is therefore not a blend of red wine and white wine.
Since the flesh of red wine grapes is just as transparent as that of white wine grapes, the rosé gets its color solely from the red pigments in the skin of the red wine grapes. Unlike in red wine production, the skins are separated from the grape juice after only a few hours during rosé production.
As soon as the grape juice has taken on a slightly red color, it is pressed and transferred to another tank. There it ferments further without the skins. Afterwards, it is bottled as rosé wine.
What are the different methods of making rosé?
In general, there are four different production methods for rosé wine. These include the pressing method, Saignée method, maceration method, and the blending method (which is mostly used only for Champagne).

Eine günstigere und nicht viel aufwendigere Alternative ist, sich den Wein ins deutsche Grenzgebiet liefern zu lassen und die Verzollung selbst vorzunehmen. Du erhältst dann die deutsche MwSt zurück, hast eine Freimenge von 5 Liter pro Person und zahlst 2 CHF Zoll für jeden weiteren Liter.
Zudem liefern wir frachtkostenfrei ab 120€ innerhalb Deutschlands. Des weiteren musst Du Dich nicht mit dem Paketdienst abstimmen und sicherstellen, dass jemand da ist, sobald die Lieferung eintrifft.
Wenn Du keine Möglichkeit hast, die Ware zu Freunden ins Grenzgebiet liefern zu lassen, dann können wir den Wein in einen UPS Access Point in Grenznähe nahe zu Deinem Wohnort liefern lassen. Du brauchst Dich nicht zu registrieren, es entstehen keine weiteren Kosten und Du musst nur Deine Weine innerhalb eines gewissen Zeitrahmens dort abholen.
Ferner gibt es verschiedene Anbieter von Paketshops, von denen Du Dein Paket gegen eine kleine Gebühr abholen lassen kannst, z.B.
