Winery Boschendal

Founded in 1685, Boschendal Winery is one of South Africa’s oldest wineries. In its early history, it was farmed by members of the Huguenot de Villiers family, among others. Under their leadership, Boschendal became an important agricultural estate in the Cape as early as the 18th century.

Today, a dedicated winemaking team leads the cellar work, bringing together specialists who craft wines of international standing. With meticulous attention to detail, a distinctive sense of terroir and a clear focus on sustainability, they express the unique character of cool-climate regions such as Elgin and Helderberg.

Most of Boschendal’s vineyards are planted with the white varieties Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, while Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz dominate among the red varieties.
