Leopards Leap Family Vineyards
Winery Leopard's Leap in the sun-drenched Franschhoek wine region is known for its approachable quality wines and family-friendly atmosphere. The estate combines winemaking with food, and places great importance on sustainability to preserve the natural beauty of the Cape province.
As the namesake and symbol, the critically endangered Cape leopard is featured, and its protection is actively supported. The philosophy of promoting a “worthy life” is reflected in the quality of the wines.
The main grape varieties are the fresh Chenin Blanc from South Africa and the characteristic Pinotage from South Africa.
Translation missing: en.Tasting notes
The Leopard's Leap Shiraz from the Franschhoek region in South Africa impresses with lively aromas of blackcurrants and blackberries, underlined by vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate, a harmonious interplay of dark fruits and subtle oak spice notes unfolds, supported by a well structured tannin structure that leads to a long-lasting finish.

Shiraz
Shiraz, also known internationally as Syrah, is a dark grape varietythat produces powerful and spicy, fruit-driven red wines In the glass, Shiraz wines often display a deep, dark colour and show pronounced structure on the palate. Typical aromas range from dark berries such as Blackberry and black cherry to pepper, cloves, smoke and notes of leather or Chocolate.
The wines are often characterised by firm tannins and moderate to good acidity, giving them excellent ageing potential. Stylistically, they vary depending on their origin: while the New World (Australia, South Africa) often favours more opulent, fruit-driven interpretations, wines from the Northern Rhône (France) are generally more elegant and peppery.
Shiraz is a versatile accompaniment to rich dishes such as grilled foods, game or spicy stews.
