Paserene is a family-run boutique Winery in Franschhoekthat is dedicated to producing high-quality luxury wines. The name Paserene comes from the Latin word Passeriformes, the order of the “perching and free” birds, which includes swifts and swallows. This reflects the Winery’s philosophy of creating wines with a strong sense of place and people.
The Winery places great value on authentic wines and works of art on the labels, creating a lasting legacy for future generations. Its connection to nature is also reflected in the architectural design of the wine lounge, inspired by a swallow’s nest. This construction is intended to harmoniously blend into the landscape rather than compete with it.
The terroir of the Franschhoek wine region enables Paserene to produce award-winning wines such as the Elements Range. These wines symbolize the playful side of the Winery and offer a truly unique pleasure. Paserene focuses on Chardonnay and red cuvées.

The Paserene Rosie presents itself fresh, lively and elegant. On the nose, there are intense aromas of crushed pomegranate, fresh strawberries, and juicy watermelon. Playful notes of cotton candy and fine candy floss give the wine extra lightness, while grapefruit and fresh citrus zest provide an invigorating freshness. On the palate, the rosé impresses with its silky texture and perfectly balanced acidity. The fruity-forward style is carried by ripe strawberry and watermelon aromas, harmoniously balanced by the lively freshness. The finish is clean, refreshing and long-lasting.

Mourvèdre, Syrah, Malbec
This cuvée combines dark fruit, spice and firm structure. Syrah and Malbec often contribute blackberry, plum and violet notes as well as intense colour; Mourvèdre often adds earthy, herbal and savoury accents. Peppery spice can come particularly from Syrah. Mourvèdre and Malbec contribute to tannin and body , while Syrah can support fresh acidity, depending on the site. How taut or supple the blend feels depends largely on ripeness, origin and ageing.
In the glass, the wine usually appears deep ruby red to purple, with a generally full-bodied and spicy palate. The combination has no clearly defined classic home: Mourvèdre is particularly widespread in the Mediterranean region , Syrah in the Rhône and South Africa, and Malbec in southwestern France and Argentina. The styles can range from fruit-driven to firmly structured and oak-influenced. It pairs well with pan-seared or braised meat and hearty vegetable dishes.
