The Paul Sauer 2020 from the Winery Kanonkop is characterized by a rich ruby color. This lively red wine also stands out from other red wines primarily because of its intense fruit aromas.
On the nose there are notes of red berries, fresh spices and light cedarwood nuances. On the palate, the Paul Sauer 2020 from the Winery Kanonkop convinces with classic aromas of dark berries and an elegant character.
The tannins are gently and precisely integrated and, together with the skillful use of new oak, form the perfect backdrop for the complex range of fruit. The finish is juicy and spicy.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Cabernet Franc
This cuvée combines dark fruit, spicy freshness and supporting structure. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot complement each other with aromas of blackcurrant, cherry and plum: While the former generally contributes colour and firm tannins, Merlot often brings fullness and a softer texture. Cabernet Franc often adds herbaceous, finely peppery accents and supports the freshness. Acidity and tannins give the blend definition without any one variety needing to dominate the flavour.
The combination is particularly well known from Bordeaux , but is also found in Tuscany and other international wine regions. In the glass, it is usually ruby red to deep dark red. Depending on the climate and ageing, the style ranges from fresh and focused to full-bodied and smooth; oak can contribute additional toasted and spicy notes. It pairs well with roasted meat, mushroom dishes or mature cheese.
