Ruinart

The House English:
Ruinart

Spanish:
Ruinart

Dutch:
Ruinart

French:
Ruinart
was founded on 1 September 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart and is considered the oldest Champagne house. Its founding took place during the Age of Enlightenment and the French “art de vivre”, when a culture of refinement and elegance emerged. Dom Thierry Ruinart, the founder’s uncle, recognized early on the potential of “wine with bubbles”.

Ruinart is committed to excellence and has chosen Chardonnay as the guiding theme for all its cuvées. This rare grape variety gives the Champagnes their distinctive elegance and purity. The cuvées mature in 38-metre-deep chalk cellars that stretch for 8 km. The terroir of Champagne shapes the house’s style to a large extent, especially the vineyards in the Montagne de Reims.

In 1764, Ruinart created Ruinart Rosé, the world’s first rosé Champagne. Since 2020, Ruinart has been committed to sustainability with a recyclable “Second Skin” packaging.
