Leopards Leap Family Vineyards
Winery Leopard's Leap in the sun-drenched Franschhoek wine region is known for its approachable quality wines and family-friendly atmosphere. The estate combines winemaking with food, and places great importance on sustainability to preserve the natural beauty of the Cape province.
As the namesake and symbol, the critically endangered Cape leopard is featured, and its protection is actively supported. The philosophy of promoting a “worthy life” is reflected in the quality of the wines.
The main grape varieties are the fresh Chenin Blanc from South Africa and the characteristic Pinotage from South Africa.
Translation missing: en.Tasting notes
The Cabernet Sauvignon from Leopard’s Leap presents itself as an elegant, medium-bodied red wine with clear structure and well-integrated tannins. It is characterized by aromas of blackcurrants (cassis) and dark berries, accompanied by subtle notes of fruitcake and mulberries as well as a hint of violets. The finish is long-lasting and harmonious.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon usually produces full-bodied red wines with a clear structure and pronounced tannin. Typical aromas include blackcurrant, dark cherry and Blackberry, often accompanied by herbal or slightly peppery notes. Pronounced acidity gives the dense fruit profile definition. In the glass, the grape variety usually shows a deep ruby-red colour, often with violet reflections in its youth. With increasing maturity, hints of tobacco and cedarwood may develop.
Its historic home is Bordeaux; important growing regions are also found in California, Chile, Australia and South Africa. Cooler sites often promote a more focused, herbaceous style, while warmer regions tend to produce riper fruit and greater richness. Depending on the ageing, the result is fruit-driven or oak-influenced wines with varying tannin textures. They pair well with hearty meat dishes, braised vegetables and mature cheese.
