Beau Constantia
The Winery Beau Constantia rises high above the slopes of Constantia and offers a breathtaking panoramic view over the vineyards. The Constantia Region is known for its elegant cool-climate wines. The winery, led by cellarmaster Justin van der Velde , has specialized in producing distinctive wines that reflect the uniqueness of the site.
Its specialties include a distinctive Sauvignon Blanc as well as a Viognier, both of which highlight the freshness and minerality of the soil. Also especially noteworthy are the award-winning Bordeaux-style cuvées, which combine complexity and elegance. These often draw on grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Each bottle reflects the careful craftsmanship and dedication with which wines of world-class quality are made here. Modern winery facilities allow the quality of the grapes to be preserved at its best and turned into expressive wines.

The Pas de Nom Red 2021 from the Winery Beau Constantia impresses with a bright purple-red in the glass.
The Merlot brings out aromas of ripe, red cherries, as well as juicy plums. The Malbec provides not only spicy notes but also soft, smooth tannins, which are balanced by the light structure and intense blackberry aromas of the Syrah.
The Pas de Nom Red 2021 from Beau Constantia thus leaves a lasting impression on the palate.

Merlot, Syrah, Malbec
This cuvée combines dark fruit, spice and body. Merlot and Malbec often contribute plum and black cherry aromas as well as fullness; Syrah often adds blackberry and peppery spice. Malbec and Syrah are particularly responsible for colour depth and supportive tannin , while Merlot can round out the blend with a supple texture. The freshness depends greatly on the site and harvest time, rather than being attributable to a single variety alone.
In the glass, it usually shows a deep ruby red with violet hues. Typical is a bold, fruit-driven style, which can appear juicy or denser and spicier depending on the ageing. This combination cannot be assigned to a classic origin: Merlot is particularly associated with Bordeaux, Syrah with the Rhône and Malbec with Argentina ; together, they are used in different wine regions.
It pairs well with quickly seared or braised meat, roasted vegetables and mature cheese.
