Cave d'Esclans
The Château d’Esclans lies in the heart of Provence, northeast of St. Tropez, and is a magical estate. Its roots go back to the Gallic era, when it served as a watch post. Later, in 1201, the château and the original cellars passed into the possession of Gérard de Villeneuve. In 2006 Sacha Lichine acquired Château d’Esclans with the vision of creating the best rosé wines in the world and thereby kick-starting a "Rosé Renaissance." Despite being acquired by Moët Hennessy (LVMH) in 2019, it is still operated under his leadership.
The philosophy of Château d’Esclans focuses on producing high-quality rosé wines comparable to great white wines. This goal is achieved through state-of-the-art facilities and the expertise of the famous winemaker Patrick Léon, known for his work at Rothschild. The wines are often aged in oak barrels, giving them complexity. Among the renowned cuvées are Château d’Esclans, Les Clans and Garrus, with the latter considered the most expensive rosé wine in the world.
The terroir of the Côtes de Provence with its old Grenache vines is known for highly concentrated aromas. The best-known cuvée, the [Whispering Angel](/collection/whispering-angel), has made a name for itself worldwide and is appreciated for its structure and aromas. The Rock Angel is also extremely popular. Although the Winery is primarily known for its rosé wines, it also produces high-quality white and red wines in the Esclans Déesse cuvée. Esclans Déesse.

Cave d'Esclans Whispering Angel Magnum is a first-class rosé wine produced by the renowned winery Cave d'Esclans. Whispering Angel is one of the best-known and most popular rosé wines from Provence.
This rosé wine is distinguished by its excellent quality, elegant personality and refined flavour profile. It is made from a blend of different grape varieties, primarily Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle (also known as Vermentino).

Grenache, Rolle, Syrah, Tibouren
This cuvée brings together red fruit, citrus freshness and Mediterranean spice. Grenache and Syrah contribute mainly berry aromas and body; Syrah can also add colour, peppery notes and finely defined tannins. Rolle complements the blend with citrus notes and lively acidity, while Tibouren often contributes herbal, subtly spicy nuances. This allows fruit richness and freshness to balance each other, without any one variety having to define the character.
The grape varieties are particularly associated with southern France and the Mediterranean region ; the combination alone, however, does not establish a clearly defined origin. A dry rosé styleis the most likely, which may be light and linear or somewhat fuller-bodied depending on the ageing. In the glass, a rosé made in this style may show delicate salmon to deeper pink hues, usually with little tannin. It pairs well with vegetable dishes, fish or white meats.
