Tasting Note
The FMC Chenin Blanc from Ken Forrester is undoubtedly one of the top Chenin Blancs from South Africa and easily holds its own against the world's finest white wines. This Chenin Blanc finally puts South Africa on the map, even for “New World” critics.
Despite its elegance, this pure FMC Chenin Blanc is full-bodied and powerful. Its broad range of flavours includes dried apricot and vanilla, as well as honey.
Only the very best grapes from the winery are used to produce this white wine. The grapes are hand-picked and sorted only when they have reached ideal ripeness. Fermentation then takes place in the cellar, using only naturally occurring “wild yeast” in 400-litre oak barrels.
The FMC Chenin Blanc from Ken Forrester then spends a further 12 months in French barriques.
