From South Africa’s Franschhoek, La Providence brings a true rarity to the glass with this 2025 Shiraz: the very first harvest from a newly planted plot of just 1.1 hectares. A cool spring and selective hand-picking in the fresh morning hours give this extremely limited Virgin Wine remarkable freshness and aromatic depth. In the glass, it shimmers a deep dark red with bluish highlights, while 25 percent whole bunches, spontaneously fermented, lend lively tension. On the nose, ripe plum and freshly ground black pepper meet the delicate herbal spice of a five-day cold maceration. On the palate, it unfolds a full body with 14.0% ABV and an invigorating acidity of 5.2 g/l, balanced by a crystal-clear 0.4 g/l residual sugar. Aged for 16 months in French oak, it envelops you in melted tannins, dark Chocolate and vanilla, underscored by a refined roasted-coffee note on the long finish. Serve at 16 to 18 degrees to experience its full brilliance and make any discerning evening special.
