Kaapzicht

The Winery Kaapzicht in the region Stellenbosch was acquired by the Steytler family in 1946 and is known for its premium wines. The name means “Cape View” and reflects its scenic location overlooking Table Mountain. Under the leadership of cellarmaster Danie Steytler Jnr, an experienced oenologist, Kaapzicht focuses on quality and innovation.

The winery’s philosophy is embodied in the renowned “Steytler” range, whose flagship wine, the Steytler Vision Cape Blend, was awarded the Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande Trophy for the best red wine blend in 2004. The terroir of the Bottelary Hills , with its granite and sandstone soils and the influence of cooling sea breezes, is ideal for bold red wines such as Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.

A particular highlight is the 1947 Chenin Blanc, made from some of South Africa’s oldest Chenin Blanc-vines. These conditions give the wines from Kaapzicht their distinctive concentration and dark fruit character, appreciated by connoisseurs and wine lovers alike.
