Rickety Bridge Winery
The Winery Rickety Bridge, whose origins date back to 1694 , is idyllically situated in the prestigious wine region of Franschhoek. Known for its elegant wine style, the estate combines a long winemaking tradition with modern vision. The portfolio includes outstanding wines such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Particular emphasis is also placed on growing fine Shiraz-vines, which significantly shape the quality and expressive character of the wines. A combination of traditional methods and innovative techniques enables the production of wines with character. Visitors are warmly invited to taste the wines on site and enjoy the beauty of the landscape.
Translation missing: en.Tasting notes
The Rickety Bridge Foundation Stone Rosé opens with a bright, fragrant bouquet of fresh strawberry, raspberry and a hint of white blossom. Spicy notes complement the fruit, such as pink pepper and delicate herbal spice. On the palate, the wine is lively and balanced, with fresh acidity.
Blend
36% Mourvèdre, 25% Grenache Noir, 20% Cinsault, 14% Shiraz and 5% Viognier

Mourvedre, Grenache Noir, Cinsault, Shiraz, Viognier
This cuvée combines red and dark berry fruit with spice and floral notes. Grenache Noir and Cinsault support its juicy red-fruit character: Grenache Noir adds more body and warmth, while Cinsault brings lightness and fragrant freshness. Mourvèdre and Shiraz contribute mainly colour, tannin and structure as well as dark fruit and peppery or earthy notes. Viognier can complement the blend with floral aromas and a supple richness . The liveliness of the acidity depends largely on the site and harvest timing.
The varieties are particularly associated with southern France and are also found in South Africa and Australia; however, this combination does not represent a clearly defined classic regional blend. In the glass, it is usually ruby to dark red. Depending on how it is aged, the style ranges from fruit-forward and approachable to spicy, powerful and tannic. It pairs well with roast meat, braised vegetables or hearty legume dishes.
