This cuvée combines ripe berry fruit, spice and a supporting structure. Grenache often contributes red fruit, fullness and a soft impression, while Shiraz adds dark berries, peppery notes and colour. Together, they shape the fruit and body; Carignan often brings distinctive acidity, tart fruit and grippy tannin . Combined with the tannins from Shiraz, this creates a structural counterbalance to the fruit's ripeness.

The combination is found, for example, in southern France, but is not tied to a specific origin. Typical examples are spicy, fruity, medium- to full-bodied red wines, whose freshness and density depend on the site, harvest date and Aged. In the glass, they usually show a deep ruby red, sometimes with violet reflections. The style ranges from juicy and approachable to concentrated and tannin-driven. They pair well with roast meat, hearty vegetable dishes or mature cheese.
