Thelema Mountain Vineyards
The Winery Thelema, founded in 1983 by Gyles and Barbara Webb , is a renowned estate in the picturesque Stellenbosch wine region, South Africa. Located on the slopes of the Simonsberg, it has established itself as a benchmark for winemaking in the Cape through its consistent quality.
Thelema Mountain Vineyards focuses on classic grape varieties. Particularly noteworthy are its precise South African Chardonnay and concentrated South African Cabernet Sauvignon, which have earned international acclaim.
Alongside these classics, the elegant South African Pinot Noir and fresh South African Sauvignon Blanc complete the range. A visit offers the chance to enjoy the unique landscape and outstanding wines.

The Mountain White from Winery Thelema has an intense aroma of tropical fruits. On the palate, the Mountain White from Thelema is medium-bodied to soft, with a zesty acidity on the finish. You can also taste notes of pineapple, peach & vanilla.
The Viognier lends weight and volume to the cuvée, while the Sauvignon Blanc provides the necessary freshness and acidity.

Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier
This cuvée combines freshness and aromatic richness: Sauvignon Blanc often brings citrus fruit, gooseberry and herbal notes along with lively acidity. Viognier adds apricot, peach and floral aromas, lending body and a softer, sometimes oily texture. The result can be a juicy, fragrant white wine whose acidity gives its richness definition. Tannins usually remain in the background with conventional white winemaking; in the glass, the colour ranges from pale yellow to golden yellow.
The varieties are particularly associated with the Loire and the northern Rhône, respectively; however, this combination is not a classic regional blend. Its style ranges from fruit-forward and fresh to fuller-bodied expressions shaped, for example, by lees ageing or oak. The acidity can support ageing potential, while Viognier mainly adds substance; the wine’s actual ageing potential depends largely on how it is aged. It pairs well with fish, poultry or vegetable dishes.
