Tasting Note
The Last Elephant from Franschhoek Cellar is a cuvée made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot.
Only the best grapes produced by the winery each year are used for The Last Elephant. Its pleasant tannins create a complex yet smooth palate and a long finish.
The nose is impressive, showing aromas of blackcurrant, juicy cherry, cedarwood and cigar box. These aromas are complemented by raspberries and spices. On the palate, the wine is elegantly powerful.
The Last Elephant tells the story of the elephants that once roamed the mountains of the Winelands in Franschhoek.
It was aged for 12 months in French and American barrique barrels.
