Winery Beyerskloof
In 1988, Beyerskloof, which has become synonymous with Pinotage, was "born" through the planting of the first vineyard on the small farm near Koelenhof. After acquiring 100 hectares in the Bottelary Winelands of Stellenbosch in 1997, the landholding expanded in 2018 with the purchase of 50 hectares of vineyards known as Kriekbult, located between the Winery and Simonsberg. The vines can be viewed from the picturesque restaurant. The traditional Winery Beyerskloof has already been in the hands of the Beyer family for six generations. The growth and development over the 30 years since Beyers put his hands in the soil and planted the first vines on home ground are more than impressive. Wine lovers can look forward to the upcoming vintages.
Tasting notes
The Beyerskloof Pinotage Rosé is a fresh and fruity rosé wine from South Africa. It is made from 100% Pinotage grapes, a grape variety native to South Africa known for its rich and intense wines.
The wine has a bright pink color and a bouquet of red fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, and cherries, accompanied by subtle floral notes. On the palate, it is juicy and fresh, with a lively acidity and a hint of sweetness. Flavors of red berries and citrus fruits dominate the taste, followed by a long and refreshing finish.
Grape Variety
Chenin Blanc is a widely cultivated, old white wine grape variety that has been grown in France (in Anjou – Touraine) since the 9th century. Compared to other white wine grape varieties, this variety is very productive. This leads to a very high quality of the white wine when reduced on the vine.
In South Africa, Chenin Blanc is the most widely grown white wine grape variety. The reason for this is primarily the very high diversity. For example, there are "wild-growing" vines (so-called Bush Vines) that are usually not irrigated. For this reason, the vines penetrate very deep into the ground with their roots to reach water. These Chenin Blancs therefore have a stronger depth and complexity.
The grape variety can also be aged very fresh and fruity in stainless steel tanks, developing into a very nice summer wine. Through the Aged in oak barrels, one obtains very complex and full-bodied white wines. The aromas of Chenin Blanc wines range from peach, apricot, and tropical fruits to honey and melon.

Der erste trockene Rose, den ich wirklich wieder gekauft habe - trocken, fruchtig, gut ausgewogen. Perfekt für die Sommermonate.
