La Bri
Welcome to Winery La Bri, a gem in the picturesque Franschhoek-Valley of South Africa. Tucked into an idyllic landscape, it is known for its carefully cultivated wines that reflect the unique terroir characteristics of the region . Although Franschhoek it is known for its French Huguenot roots and wine traditions, the winery has earned its own reputation.
The vineyards benefit from a Mediterranean climate with cool winds, which encourages the grapes to ripen slowly and leads to complex aromas and a well-balanced acidity structure. The Winery La Bri focus is on various grape varieties, including Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc, which thrive beautifully here.

The Cabernet Sauvignon Limited Release from the Winery La Bri is produced exclusively in exceptional vintages and is limited to only 1300 bottles. It presents itself with a velvety texture that envelops aromas of cassis and fine pencil shavings. On the palate, it is powerful, precisely structured, and long-lasting.
The grapes come exclusively from Block 1 Cabernet, which was planted in 1999 in Franschhoek. After a one-week cold maceration, fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks. The malolactic fermentation occurred in barrels, followed by a 24-month aging in French oak. The result is a wine of pure expressiveness and elegance, impressively reflecting the uniqueness of the terroir.

Grape Variety
Chenin Blanc is a widely cultivated, old white wine grape variety that has been grown in France (in Anjou – Touraine) since the 9th century. Compared to other white wine grape varieties, this variety is very productive. This leads to a very high quality of the white wine when reduced on the vine.
In South Africa, Chenin Blanc is the most widely grown white wine grape variety. The reason for this is primarily the very high diversity. For example, there are "wild-growing" vines (so-called Bush Vines) that are usually not irrigated. For this reason, the vines penetrate very deep into the ground with their roots to reach water. These Chenin Blancs therefore have a stronger depth and complexity.
The grape variety can also be aged very fresh and fruity in stainless steel tanks, developing into a very nice summer wine. Through the Aged in oak barrels, one obtains very complex and full-bodied white wines. The aromas of Chenin Blanc wines range from peach, apricot, and tropical fruits to honey and melon.
