Max & Moritz

What began as a shared passion for exceptional wines has grown into one of Germany’s leading destinations for South African wine. With their wine bars, Max & Moritz bring together modern hospitality, high-quality food and one of Europe’s largest selections of South African wines.

Each wine bar shares the same goal: to make wine simple, accessible and enjoyable. Instead of a traditional wine shop, guests can expect a relaxed atmosphere, personal recommendations and the chance to discover special wines by the glass or bottle—from hidden gems from small family-run wineries to internationally acclaimed top wines.

With locations in Munich, Max & Moritz create places for food lovers, travellers and wine enthusiasts, where quality, hospitality and authentic experiences take centre stage. Regular wine tastings, exclusive events and close partnerships with renowned South African wineries make each wine bar a meeting place for anyone looking to discover wine anew.

Today, The WineStore imports wines from more than 50 South African wineries directly to Germany. This close collaboration allows Max & Moritz to offer many wines exclusively and delight guests with a selection that goes far beyond the classic range.

Whether it’s a glass of wine after work, a special evening with friends or a guided tasting, the Max & Moritz wine bars stand for genuine hospitality, exceptional wines and the allure of South Africa—right in the heart of Munich.
