Le Lude
The Le Lude Winery in the enchanting Franschhoek wine region, South Africa, has made a name for itself with its first-class Cap Classique sparkling wine. Here, they are dedicated to the traditional method of sparkling wine production.
The carefully hand-harvested grapes, mainly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, form the basis for elegant and complex wines. The unique terroir of Franschhoek with its diverse soils and ideal climate creates perfect conditions. The result is sparkling wines with fine bubbles, balanced acidity and expressive aromas, such as the renowned Le Lude Brut.
Translation missing: en.Tasting notes
On the nose, the Vintage Cuvee from Winery Le Lude reveals aromas of nutty brioche, honey and figs, with a delicate freshness of apple and lime leaves. On the palate, it is elegant and fresh, with fine bubbles and a light yeasty texture. The finish is long, with tertiary aromas of honey and caramel. The acidity remains consistently present.

Chardonnay & Pinot Noir
The blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir combines freshness with substance and is particularly well established as a sparkling wine . Chardonnay often contributes citrus and apple notes, lively acidity and a slender profile; Pinot Noir adds body, structure and sometimes delicate red fruit. Together, they create a balanced style that is both focused and substantial. The backbone of acidity and substance supports its aging potential; extended lees aging can add brioche and toasted notes.
This combination is classic in Champagne, and is also found in high-quality sparkling wines from other cool-climate regions, such as England. When made as a white wine, the blend is usually pale yellow to golden yellow; as a rosé, it is also a delicate pink. Despite its dark berry skins, Pinot Noir contributes little perceptible tanninwhen handled gently. The bubbles enhance freshness and texture; depending on how it is aged, the wine can be linear or creamy. It pairs well with fish, white meat and mild vegetable dishes.
