Translation missing: en.Tasting notes
Zusammensetzung:
86% Shiraz, 14% Viognier

Shiraz and Viognier
This cuvée combines the dark fruit and spice of Shiraz with the floral accents of Viognier. Shiraz defines the aromatic framework with blackberry, plum and pepper, providing body, tannin and the supporting acidity. Viognier often adds violet, apricot and a smooth texture, without contributing additional freshness as an acidity-driven variety. This can result in a full-bodied red wine whose spicy power is balanced by fragrant, softer nuances. The ageing potential is based primarily on Shiraz’s concentration, acidity and tannin structure; Viognier mainly broadens the aromatic spectrum.
The combination is well established in the northern Rhône, particularly in Côte-Rôtie, as well as in South Africa. The two varieties are often co-fermented. In the glass, the cuvée usually appears deep ruby-red to purple; the style ranges from peppery and taut to ripe-fruited and velvety. It pairs well with quickly seared meat, braised dishes or spicy vegetable dishes.
