Fryer's Cove
Fryer's Cove is the only Winery in the region Bamboes Bay, South Africa’s smallest wine-growing region. The vines stretch across the hills, just 500 metres from the Atlantic coast. The unique location near the fishing village of Doringbaai, shaped by cool sea breezes and rugged terroir, gives the wines, especially South African Sauvignon Blanc, their distinctive maritime character. The philosophy “Forged of the earth, Tempered by the sea” reflects the close connection with nature.
These special climatic conditions create an ideal environment for growing varieties such as South African Chenin Blanc and South African Pinot Noir. Alongside Sauvignon Blanc , Grenache and Cinsault are also grown. The Winery is the closest to the sea in South Africa, which is clearly reflected in the taste of the wines.
The Jetty Restaurant is part of the Fryer's Cove Community Development Project and offers the opportunity to enjoy the wines in their natural setting, paired with local specialities such as Snoekkoekies or Kerrievis.

This wine bursts with a vibrant blend of citrus and passion fruit aromas, while a hint of fresh seaweed awakens the senses. The aromas carry through to the palate, with intense lime and tropical notes, rounded off by a lingering saline minerality so characteristic of the Cape West Coast and Bamboes Bay.
