The Old Vine Reserve Chenin Blanc from Ken Forrester comes from vines that are partly over 40 years old and is one of South Africa's best-known Chenin Blancs. It combines complex aromas with a rich mouthfeel - a prime example of high-quality South African white wine.
Its layered aromas range from honeycomb, baked apple and melon to a subtle minerality. Subtle notes of apricot and caramelised pineapple round it out.
The grapes were carefully hand-picked and fermented in both stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels. The wine was then aged for 8 to 9 months on fine lees, with around 20 % aged in new barriques. A wine with depth, elegance and excellent ageing potential.
