Nestled in an idyllic landscape, it is known for its carefully cultivated wines, which reflect the unique terroir characteristics of the region . Although Franschhoek is known for its French Huguenot roots and winemaking traditions, the winery has built a reputation of its own.
The vineyards benefit from a Mediterranean climate with cool winds, encouraging slow grape ripening and resulting in complex aromas and balanced acidity. The La Bri Winery focuses on several grape varieties, including Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc, which thrive here.

Tasting Note
The Barrel Select Chardonnay 2024 from La Bri Winery displays remarkable concentration, with aromas of citrus and stone fruit. On the palate, it is rich yet bright, clearly focused and elegant, with fresh acidity and a mineral finish.
The grapes were hand-harvested in late January, chilled overnight and whole-bunch pressed. The clear juice fermented in two 600-litre French oak barrels (50% new) and aged on the lees for a total of 11 months, giving the wine added complexity and depth.
