The 'The Spotted Hound' Red Blend 2018 from Old Road Wine Co. recalls the stories of the legendary characters of the Franschhoek community. The spotted dog was a witty little character. Whenever the butcher turned away, the dog's mischievous nature took over and he helped himself to the finest cuts.

This Red Blend 2018 offers a hint of gentle saltiness on the nose, with a touch of soft cardamom spice. The palate is filled with red berries, Turkish delight and dried floral spices on the finish.

'The Spotted Hound' is grown in the north, on the slopes of the Helderberg. The soils on which these vineyards grow consist mainly of weathered granite, giving the fruit excellent minerality.
