Cape Point Vineyards
The Winery Cape Point Vineyards in the Coastal Region of South Africa, founded in 1996, is a renowned winery with a view of the picturesque Noordhoek Beach. Known for its Sauvignon Blanc from cool climates, the winery benefits from a unique terroir shaped by its proximity to the Atlantic. The wines reflect the character of this maritime region.
The winery has established itself internationally with its impressive, distinctive wines. Of particular note is the Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa, which perfectly reflects the cool maritime conditions.
In addition to its flagship grape variety, Cape Point Vineyards also produces excellent wines such as Chardonnay from South Africa, Cabernet Sauvignon from South Africa and Merlot from South Africa. The winery offers a remarkable setting for wine tastings and is an outstanding example of the Cape's cooler wine-growing regions.

The Sauvignon Blanc Reserve from Winery Cape Point Vineyards is a full-bodied wine with great complexity. It is harvested from grapes of 3 vineyard parcels located on moderately steep granite soils, where the vines have low yields, weaker and more exposed.
The result is a wine that is incredibly expressive of our terroir and shows minerality and elegance. The Reserve is round and generous on the palate and in the nose, where it displays floral elements, perfume, and hints of citrus blossom. The truly unique experience is the unexpectedly crisp and salty finish, which arises from our proximity to the cold Atlantic.

Grape Variety
Chenin Blanc is a widely cultivated, old white wine grape variety that has been grown in France (in Anjou – Touraine) since the 9th century. Compared to other white wine grape varieties, this variety is very productive. This leads to a very high quality of the white wine when reduced on the vine.
In South Africa, Chenin Blanc is the most widely grown white wine grape variety. The reason for this is primarily the very high diversity. For example, there are "wild-growing" vines (so-called Bush Vines) that are usually not irrigated. For this reason, the vines penetrate very deep into the ground with their roots to reach water. These Chenin Blancs therefore have a stronger depth and complexity.
The grape variety can also be aged very fresh and fruity in stainless steel tanks, developing into a very nice summer wine. Through the Aged in oak barrels, one obtains very complex and full-bodied white wines. The aromas of Chenin Blanc wines range from peach, apricot, and tropical fruits to honey and melon.
