The Anthonij Rupert Merlot is an award-winning red wine produced by the South African Winery Anthonij Rupert Wyne. The wine comes from the vineyards of the Anthonij Rupert Winery in the Franschhoek Valley, which is known for its premium red wines.
The wine is made from 100% Merlot grapes, which are hand-harvested and carefully selected. After fermentation the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, giving it its rich and complex character.
Anthonij Rupert Merlot has a dark red color and an intense aroma of dark fruits such as blackcurrant, blackberry and cherry, along with notes of spice and tobacco. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and elegant with soft tannins and a long, lingering finish.

Merlot
Merlot is one of the most widely planted red wine grape varieties in the world, valued for its adaptability and approachable character. Merlot wines often have a deep red colour and show pronounced aromas of dark fruit such as plum and Blackberry, complemented by notes of cherry and sometimes subtle spicy or earthy nuances like cedar or Chocolate.
Am Gaumen zeichnen sie sich durch eine a soft texture, moderate acidity and smooth tannins , making them highly enjoyable to drink. Depending on how they are aged and where they come from, they can range from light, fruit-forward wines to complex, full-bodied styles.
Typical growing regions include Bordeaux, where Merlot is often used in blends, as well as the New World, including the USA and Chile, where it is often made as a single-varietal wine. Merlot wines are versatile food companions that pair well with poultry, pasta or mild cheeses.
