Two Worlds, One Collection: Saxenburg & Jacaranda

The Wineries & Terroirs

This collection unites two outstanding wineries from two of South Africa's most significant wine regions. Saxenburg, a renowned estate in Stellenbosch, benefits from the cool sea breezes of False Bay and granite soils that lend structure and elegance to the wines. The winery is known for its classically crafted, age-worthy wines, especially Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

In contrast, Jacaranda is located in the warmer, more inland region of Wellington. This area is famous for its powerful red wines and excellent Chenin Blancs from old vines. Jacaranda takes a more artisanal approach, producing characterful wines that reflect the Wellington terroir, often with a focus on Rhône varieties like Syrah and Viognier.

Wine Ranges in the Assortment

Our selection from Saxenburg focuses on the prestigious 'Private Collection'. This line represents the best of the winery and includes varietal wines such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, and the celebrated Syrah. This is complemented by the premium 'Syrah Select'.

From Jacaranda, you will find a selection of creatively named, individual wines. These include expressive white wines like the 'Salt Old Vine Chenin Blanc' and the 'Kintsugi Viognier'. Among the red wines, the Rhône-inspired blend 'The Rebel' made from Shiraz and Viognier stands out.

Food Pairing

The versatility of this collection opens up numerous culinary possibilities. The elegant red wines from the Saxenburg Private Collection, such as Syrah or Cabernet Sauvignon, are ideal companions for grilled steak, rack of lamb, or hearty stews. The Chenin Blancs and Viogniers from Jacaranda pair excellently with spicy Asian cuisine, grilled fish, or seafood. The Saxenburg Chardonnay harmonises wonderfully with creamy pasta dishes or roasted chicken.
