The Château d’Esclans lies in the heart of Provence, northeast of St. Tropez, and is a magical estate. Its roots go back to the Gallic era, when it served as a watch post. Later, in 1201, the château and the original cellars passed into the possession of Gérard de Villeneuve. In 2006 Sacha Lichine acquired Château d’Esclans with the vision of creating the best rosé wines in the world and thereby kick-starting a "Rosé Renaissance." Despite being acquired by Moët Hennessy (LVMH) in 2019, it is still operated under his leadership.

The philosophy of Château d’Esclans focuses on producing high-quality rosé wines comparable to great white wines. This goal is achieved through state-of-the-art facilities and the expertise of the famous winemaker Patrick Léon, known for his work at Rothschild. The wines are often aged in oak barrels, giving them complexity. Among the renowned cuvées are Château d’Esclans, Les Clans and Garrus, with the latter considered the most expensive rosé wine in the world.

The terroir of the Côtes de Provence with its old Grenache vines is known for highly concentrated aromas. The best-known cuvée, the [Whispering Angel](/collection/whispering-angel), has made a name for itself worldwide and is appreciated for its structure and aromas. The Rock Angel is also extremely popular. Although the Winery is primarily known for its rosé wines, it also produces high-quality white and red wines in the Esclans Déesse cuvée. Esclans Déesse.
