De Grendel Wine Estate
The family Winery De Grendel in the Durbanville Hills has a rich history dating back to 1720 and was revived as a winery in 2000. Owned by the Graaff family, it enjoys a picturesque view of Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean.
As the flagship grape variety, the Sauvignon Blanc, which finds ideal conditions here, shines. The winery impresses with a variety of elegant, classic wines that reflect the terroir.
De Grendel is a founding member of the Durbanville Wine Valley Association and actively supports the development of regional winegrowing.
Sir David Graaff from De Grendel has an appealing aroma of cedarwood, white pepper and cloves, harmonising with delicious notes of black plumand mulberry, with hints of blackcurrant. An inviting first impression, with elegant dried cranberries on the palate, develops into rich plum flavours complemented by notes of piquantcassis and fragrant, sweet tobacco leaves, leading to a long, generous finish.
Sir David Graaff is a wine made for hearty meals. It pairs beautifully with rich stews, game, roast lamb or beef.
