Wine guideNoble Hill: Elegance from the Simonsberg
The Estate & Terroir
Noble Hill is a family-owned winery in the heart of the Paarl wine region, idyllically situated on the slopes of the Simonsberg mountains. This privileged location significantly shapes the character of the wines. The soils and unique microclimate contribute to producing wines with structure, elegance, and remarkable freshness. The winery follows a philosophy of minimal intervention in the vineyard and cellar. This sustainable approach aims to reflect the terroir as authentically as possible in every drop. The result is artisanally crafted wines that proudly showcase their origin and are valued for their purity and complexity.
Wine Ranges in our Selection
Our selection from Noble Hill offers a fascinating insight into the estate's diversity. Discover elegant single-varietal wines like the crisp Sur Lie Chenin Blanc or the terroir-driven Simonskop Chenin Blanc, the aromatic Viognier, and the classic Cabernet Sauvignon. For special moments, we recommend the 'Sic Transit Gloria Mundi', an exceptional and limited Syrah whose Latin name ('Thus passes the glory of the world') hints at its uniqueness. The Estate Reserve line, consisting of a red and a white blend, represents the best of the vintage and the estate. The range is completed by a refreshing Mourvèdre Rosé and the noble Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs, a traditional method sparkling wine (MCC).
Food Pairing
The versatility of Noble Hill wines makes them excellent food companions. A Chenin Blanc or Viognier pairs wonderfully with grilled fish, white meat, or spicy Asian dishes. The Mourvèdre Rosé is the perfect aperitif or accompaniment to light salads and Mediterranean cuisine. The robust red wines like the Cabernet Sauvignon or the Estate Reserve Red are outstanding with a rack of lamb, a juicy steak, or aged hard cheese. The complex Sic Transit Gloria Mundi Syrah calls for equally intense partners like game dishes or a pot roast.
Price Range
Noble Hill wines offer excellent value for money. Entry into the collection starts at around €15. In this segment, you will find accessible yet characterful wines for everyday enjoyment. The range extends to premium and reserve wines in the higher price bracket, which are distinguished by their special complexity and aging potential, convincing even the most discerning wine lovers.
