The Grande Provence The Grande Provence Red is a full-bodied, perfectly balanced red wine from the renowned Winery Grande Provence in South Africa. This wine is a modern interpretation of a classic Bordeaux and impresses with a harmonious and complex composition.
The The Grande Provence Red is made from a carefully balanced cuvée of hand-picked grapes. The deep ruby red color already hints at the intense array of aromas. On the nose, a complex bouquet unfolds with notes of cedar wood, cherry tobacco, and cigar box, underlined by fruity nuances such as black currant, roasted strawberries, light cherries, and raspberries.
Composition
Merlot (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (29%), Malbec (11%)

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec
This cuvée combines dark fruit, richness and a supporting tannic structure. Merlot and Malbec can create a rounded, juicy core with notes of plum and blackberry; Malbec often also contributes to depth of colour and body . Cabernet Sauvignon usually adds cassis, herbal spice, as well as structure and acidity, giving the fruit definition and freshness. How soft or grippy the tannins feel also depends on ripeness and ageing.
In the glass, the cuvée typically shows a deep ruby-red to purple colour. These grape varieties are found, among other places, in Bordeaux and Argentina , although their combination does not indicate a specific origin. Stylistically, the spectrum ranges from fruit-forward and smooth to powerful and taut; oak ageing can add roasted and spicy notes. It pairs well with roast meat, braised vegetables or mature cheese.
