Winery Avondale

Avondale is a family-run Winery in the renowned Paarl wine region of South Africa. Since being taken over by the Grieve family in 1997, the estate has been managed by Winemaker Johnathan Grieve, who has made Avondale a pioneer in organic and biodynamic winemaking.

Under the motto "Terra Est Vita" – Soil is Life – Avondale stands for wines created in harmony with nature. Ducks replace pesticides, natural yeasts provide authentic aromas. Visitors to the estate experience not only award-winning wines but also a philosophy that harmoniously combines sustainability and enjoyment.

Cuvées are among the most expensive wines in the world. Bordeaux wines from France or premium wines from the Rioja wine region in Spain also count as Cuvées. Furthermore, the best champagnes in the world are usually Cuvée champagnes, consisting of the grape varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier.

Also in South Africa – especially due to the historical connection to the French wine world – outstanding Cuvées are produced.
