Rickety Bridge Winery
The Winery Rickety Bridge, whose origins date back to 1694 , is idyllically situated in the prestigious wine region of Franschhoek. Known for its elegant wine style, the estate combines a long winemaking tradition with modern vision. The portfolio includes outstanding wines such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Particular emphasis is also placed on growing fine Shiraz-vines, which significantly shape the quality and expressive character of the wines. A combination of traditional methods and innovative techniques enables the production of wines with character. Visitors are warmly invited to taste the wines on site and enjoy the beauty of the landscape.
Regna Loca Semillon 2024 reveals itself as a multifaceted wine, with expressive notes of lemon zest, bright citrus aromas and subtle dried-fruit notes from the Sémillon Gris. On the palate, it impresses with a creamy texture and precise structure, while lively acidity carries the flavours into a long, elegant finish. The 2024 vintage in Franschhoek benefited from a wet winter in 2023, which created optimal soil conditions, followed by warm, dry weather with carefully managed irrigation. Despite lower yields, the grapes achieved exceptional concentration and acid balance. The wine was made entirely from whole bunches, fermented in amphorae and barrels, then aged for ten months—a process that brings together complexity and elegance.
