Thelema Mountain Vineyards focuses on classic grape varieties. Particularly noteworthy are the precise Chardonnay from South Africa and the concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon from South Africa, which receive international recognition.
In addition to these classics, the elegant Pinot Noir from South Africa and the fresh Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa complete the range. A visit gives you the opportunity to enjoy the unique landscape and the excellent wines.

The 'The Abbey' from the Winery Thelema delights many wine drinkers with its incredibly smooth mouthfeel.
The spicy and woody aromas provide a contrast and still feel very harmonious due to the fine forest berry note. The blend of Shiraz, Grenache and Petit Verdot of the 'The Abbey' has nuances of dark plums and white pepper with an inviting roasted spice on the palate and an elegant acidity. In addition, 'The Abbey' has the potential to develop magnificently over the next 8 years.

Shiraz, Grenache and Petit Verdot
This cuvée brings together ripe fruit with spice and structure: Shiraz and Grenache often contribute blackberry, plum and red berry notes, as well as body and fullness. Peppery accents mainly come from Shiraz, while Petit Verdot adds dark fruit and occasional floral notes. Shiraz and Petit Verdot in particular provide colour and tannin ; the latter can also enhance acidity and freshness . Grenache brings juicy fruit and a softer impression to the blend.
The varieties used are found, among other places, in South Africa; Grenache is also rooted in southern France, while Petit Verdot is rooted in Bordeaux . No classic origin can be inferred from this combination. In the glass, it usually appears deep ruby-red to violet and stylistically rather full-bodied and spicy, depending on its Aged, either fruit-forward or with oak notes. It pairs well with pan-seared meat, braised dishes or grilled vegetables.
