Max & Moritz

For over 60 years, the Moritz family has been devoted to winemaking in Horitschon Over around 3 hectares, only the grape varieties Blaufränkisch and Blauer Zweigelt are cultivated. Since 2006, the winery has worked fully organically to ensure the highest quality in harmony with nature. This results in region-typical, characterful red wines.

The winery’s manageable size allows for intensive care of the vines. Every plant receives the specific attention it needs to produce the best grapes. Loose, airy grape clusters, well-ventilated leaf walls, and tailored ground cover between the vine rows promote the production of fruity red wines shaped by the terroir.

The exclusivity of the wines continues in the cellar. A large portion of the bottles are given a handmade felt label, making the quality and uniqueness of the wines visible and enjoyable to the touch. With an annual production of only about 15,000 bottles, the wines are rare and sought after throughout Austria everywhere.
