Shiraz, Mourvèdre, Viognier
This cuvée brings together dark fruit, spice and floral notes. Shiraz usually contributes blackberry and plum notes, peppery spice and body; Mourvèdre adds earthy nuances and firm tannin. Together, the red varieties shape the colour and structure. Viognier can brighten the aromatic profile with floral aromas and a hint of stone fruit, while rounding out the texture. The acidity depends more on the location and harvest timing; Viognier does not automatically add acidity.
In the glass, the wine typically appears deep red to purple, with a palate that is generally full-bodied and spicy, ranging from juicy to denser and more tannic depending on how it is aged. Comparable cuvée styles can be found in South Africa; southern France also offers important points of reference for the varieties involved, although this combination does not have a clearly defined, traditional origin.
It pairs well with roasted meat, spicy vegetable dishes or slow-cooked dishes, complementing its generally fruit-forward, structured style .
