Winery Lutzville

The history of Lutzville Vineyards dates back to the year 1700. The French explorer François Le Vaillant recorded for the first time that he had bought "some strong liquor" from a widow Van Zeijl. The farm of widow Van Zeijl was located on the current grounds of the Winery.

At that time, it was said that elephants roamed freely through the valley between the farms. Over time, the valley, which stretches along a river, was planted with vineyards.

In 1961, the Lutzville Winery was founded and today it is a Winery of international renown.
